Creating new space: Fritz Frenkler and Anette Ponholzer (f/p design) succeed in a unique way with the products they create. For Schönbuch, f/p design created the delicately shaped wardrobes SKID and RACK, the minimalist coat stand LEFT and the CABIN made-to-measure cupboard for individual storage space.
The LEFT coat stand complies with the “reduce to a maximum” design principle. From a functional standpoint this means no wasted space. A small permanently attached hook with a black powder-coated finish can be used to hang up clothing directly or on a hanger. The baseplate ensures ample stability. This product is available in all-over black or with a combined decor (base and rod powder-coated, colour granite). Timeless in every way.
Minimalism, design and function. Made from fine, square-section metal tubing, the RACK range consists of a rectangular wall-mounted coat rack, round or rectangular floor-standing coat stands, umbrella stands, side and console tables. The tubing is finished in a choice of smoked chrome or black or white powder coating. The coat holders can be complemented with small hooks in a matching finish, available to order in sets of four.
The umbrella stands can be upturned and used as side tables or shelves. Purist, practical and ideal for entrance areas, offices and business spaces. RACK is where functionality meets lightness.
The wall-mounted rack in smoked chrome is available with a matching smoked glass top or powder-coated in black or white with an optional, back-painted, clear glass top to match. The wardrobe element can also be equipped with small hooks. If it is installed at a lower height, the shelf function is especially useful.
The console table is round or rectangular in design and compatible with any interior style. It is perfect for living areas, bedrooms, home offices and anywhere in need of an unobtrusive home for odds and ends. It is available in three variants: smoked chrome with a matching smoked-glass top, or white or black powder-coated with a clear-glass top back-painted to match.
Creating space in a sensitive way: that’s the SKID design concept. This coat stand has a stainless steel frame with skid-pattern feet for extra stability. It suits every entrance area, but also the bedroom or office, perfectly.
The metal rods have a square section; at the top is a semi-circular element in oak. Poised just as perfectly on its skids: the matching umbrella stand. An effective design, pure, stylish and ultra-light – minimalist look, maximum effect.
In 2000 Fritz Frenkler and Anette Ponholzer established the f/p design deutschland gmbh in Germany, followed by f/p design japan inc. in 2003. In the preceding years Fritz Frenkler was General Manager of frogdesign Asia, ran the wiege Wilkhahn Entwicklungsgesellschaft development company and was Head of Design for the German rail company Deutsche Bahn AG. Since 2006 this creative all-rounder has also been Professor for Industrial Design at Munich’s Technical University. Anette Ponholzer worked initially in New York after gaining her diploma in industrial design, followed like Frenkler by a period with wiege Wilkhahn. In 2007 she was guest professor for interior design at the Stuttgart College of Advanced Technology. The range of products that f/p have designed extends from furniture to lighting and domestic appliances, audio/video and communication equipment. f/p design also undertakes shopfitting and exhibition stand work. Clients from Asia, Europe and the USA bear witness to its international competence, and it has gained many awards. For Schönbuch, f/p design created the CABIN made-to-measure cupboard for individual storage space, and the delicately shaped product lines SKID and RACK and the minimalist coat stand LEFT – light, airy and altogether captivating. Their minimalist look is allied to maximum spatial effect.
