Piccolo Novo—re-interpreting a classic piece



In recent years, powder rooms have established themselves as prestigious rooms. The demands on their designs have continuously increased so they are now planned with the same expressiveness and love for detail as any other room in a home. When Alape launched “Piccolo” in 1997, it was the first filigree product made from 3mm steel for powder rooms, used as a functional solution for small floor plans. At ISH 2019, the Goslar manufacture will present “Piccolo Novo”, a re-interpretation of this popular classic. This new product exhibits contemporary modifications of features, topical colours and optimised proportions.



From its in-house product portfolio, Alape offers various solutions for powder rooms: basins, washstands and also washplaces. The Piccolo washplace solution has made a name for itself as a designer piece for stylish guest toilets or very small bathrooms. The linear cabinet and elegant tabletop basin result in a harmonious combination for maximised space-saving even on the smallest of bathroom floor plans.



Finished by function, colour and slenderness



“Piccolo Novo” is slightly wider than its previous solution and offers more counter space. In addition, Alape added an elegant designer siphon to this washplace. The towel rail also became more filigree—an optical reduction that creates even more clarity than its predecessor. It is attached to the side of the console, on the opposite side of the dish basin.
Due to the continuously changing style universes in powder rooms, colours play an increasingly prominent role. This is why Piccolo Novo’s cabinet comes not only in a puristic white model but also in three topical matt colours (Nordic, Oyster, Gravel) to offer yet more freedom of combination. The expressive basin in 3mm glazed steel can be mounted on the cabinet’s left or right side and comes in classic white, with an enamelled inside and outside to make it particularly durable. A flush-mounted cap accentuates the tabletop basin.
This new Alape product integrates wash basin, towel rail and counter space with a minimal footprint. The reduced and distinct use of shapes achieved by the materiality used is proof of the company’s high design
