Scott 175 Shoe Bench

Cabinets from Andreas Janson, Designed by Andreas Janson

Product description

We built the first Scott shoe bench a few years ago and I am still grateful to the customer for this enquiry. The idea behind the shoe bench is simple. The idea was to create a seating area in the hallway that also provided storage space for shoes. The first shoe bench we built was made without doors. As is so often the case, things took off when we presented the shoe rack in our online shop. The first customers quickly called and asked for the shoe bench, but added their own requests. This resulted in further shoe racks and benches. If we particularly liked the results of the furniture, we also integrated it into the shop.

Scott 175 is made of white board material and fitted with solid oak panelling. The carcase is divided by shelves to maximise storage space for shoes. To make the hallway even quieter, doors are fitted in front of the shelves so that only a plain white shoe bench complements the room. Thanks to a simple idea, the shoe bench dispenses with handles by making the doors 2 cm narrower than the clear height. The resulting gap allows the door to be opened.
