F 416

Armchairs from Artifort, Designed by Kho Liang Ie

Product description

Concept

With the sublime 416 series, which was brought onto the market by Artifort in 1960, renowned designer Kho Liang Ie made a clear statement that was far ahead of its time. In his voyage of discovery undertaken within the strict social constraints of the late 1950s, he sought the contrast between soft materials and rigid structures. This resulted in a modular sofa that looks remarkable from any angle. Artifort is proud to once again offer this modern masterpiece with all of its possibilities.

The return of an icon
The minimalist frame of the 416 series consists of a careful balance between brushed stainless steel and black coated metal elements, finished with slats made from Santos rosewood. The padded seat cushion provides maximum comfort. After reassessing the original materials, Artifort now also offers the possibility of giving this sublime design a contemporary touch, without detracting from its unique elegance and style.

Modern finishes
The 416 series from the 1960s consisted of an armchair and a 3-seater sofa with padded cushions. This iconic series has been updated to today’s ergonomic standards and expanded to include a 4-seater sofa and modern finish options.
