Concept
The new Beton collection of the Granitoker line definitely extends the expressive opportunities of last-generation vitrified porcelain stoneware. The approach to design consists in a reinterpretation of a well-known material, such as concrete, to go even beyond its traditional role. In fact, Beton is an excellent ceramic product created after a severe selection of raw materials by using state-of-the-art manufacturing methods to ensure very high performance in terms of bending strength, wear, abrasion, etching, and thermal shock resistance. And they even simplify cleaning operations. With its body fully coloured with the same tones of the surface, this fully-vitrified porcelain stoneware is characterized by the special process used for its finish layer.
This modern decorative effect, definitely aimed at designing contemporary living spaces, is proposed in five soft colour tones. The project defines a sort of monochromatic stratification of the matter that is perceived both by sight and by touch - a surface that integrates varied sensory experiences and capable of generating reference levels never seen before. This is porcelain stoneware, an evolved and extremely versatile industrial product, flexible for the needs of contemporary architecture. Consisting of slabs that always differ from one another, Beton is manufactured in 9 and 10 mm thick squared and ground pieces in the large 75,5x151 cm format, with its submultiples, with either a natural finish. The quality of the material and the originality of design offer designers huge expressive possibilities to implement many customized applications for different architectural definitions of space. The types of works where these products can be used range from residential building to large commercial surfaces, from public buildings to urban landscaping, from the most challenging constructions of modern architecture to the recovery and restoration of existing structures.
Like all Casalgrande Padana’s production, the Beton collection is characterized by its environment-friendly contents because the company has been constantly committed to developing innovative technologies to manufacture high-performance materials with a low environmental impact, as witnessed by the ISO 14001 and EMAS certifications obtained.
