Product description
“Especially for children, home is a safe haven and the central hub of family life. We chose our natural hues with this kind of space in mind,” says designer Eva Marguerre. For the new colour concept of the S 43 K children’s chair, she and her partner Marcel Besau selected tones that are vivid, but not too loud, and that can stand on their own or work in combination: from a warm amber yellow to a velvety coral agate, to the cooler end of the spectrum with cobalt blue and emerald green, the selected stain colours radiate natural warmth and calm.
Concept
Tubular steel classics S 43 - an exemplary design in the spirit of modernism
In all of his furniture designs Mart Stam relied on straightforward forms, an aesthetic economy of means in the construction and the benefit of improved sitting comfort. In the case of S 43 he combined the tubular steel frame with moulded plywood shells for seat and back and thus created an absolute reduction. Due to the comfortable flexing effect of the frame, upholstery is unnecessary. Its clear, reserved form makes this cantilever chair an exemplary design in the spirit of modernism.
Without or with armrests. Frame tubular steel chrome-plated or lacquered in various colors (not stackable). Moulded plywood seat and backrest in stained beech, lacquered or with structured coating in 11 different colors. Also available with upholstered wood shells, covered with leather or fabric. The cantilever chairs from program range S 43 with a set in TP 29 black (stain) or RAL 7021 (lacquer or structured coating) as a standard have black rivets on the seat and backrest. All other colors are assembled with silver rivets.
