Lungangolo

Castiglioni is said to have pondered a lot on lost
space. Empty inches and square meters that
could be filled with beautiful design - but for
some reason just never were. This idea led to
Castiglioni conceiving many designs intended
specifically for the corners of the home.
Lungangolo is one of those. Lungangolo is a
multi-use storage unit: four slender pillars with
square cross sections make the frame to support
the square shelves placed in various heights.
The structure is strengthened by a drawer and
a panel. The position of the drawer and the
elimination of a section of the support meant it
had to be manufactured in two versions -
left- and right-handed.
