Well-conceived, functional and unique. The GEORGE solid wood table by WERNER / VAZQUEZ DESIGN STUDIO for Zoom by Mobimex takes its inspiration from the simplicity and utility of Shaker furniture. It can be augmented by additional modules for a variety of purposes. The collection also comprises a matching bench and is distinguished by its characteristic features and the beauty of its materials.
Seon, April 2018. – With GEORGE, Zoom by Mobimex presents a collection of solid wood tables inspired by the design principles of Shaker furniture, which had to be minimalist, practicable and extremely aesthetic. The elegant GEORGE table, an interpretation of this idea, is a worthy successor.
In their concept, the two WERNER / VAZQUEZ DESIGN STUDIO designers focussed on defined, structural frugality for the basic construction, which they paired with sensitively-conceived details. Particular attention was paid to accentuating the base, whose trapezoid-shaped leg structures have been offset by a gentle inner curve. The construction has been strengthened with a longitudinal brace, the ends of which each fuse with the traverse struts of the pairs of legs by means of a specially shaped, semi-circular wooden joint.
One for all
GEORGE is ideal as a dining table as well as for use as a desk or conference table. To address today’s demands for multifunctional furniture, various adaptations of the table are available. A variety of modules can be purchased to supplement the basic version. Removable marble trays protect against hot objects or act as boards, and drawers provide space for kitchen utensils, laptops or other items that need to be kept close to hand. Furthermore, each version is optionally available with a marble or coated stainless steel strip along the longitudinal brace – a convincing combination of functionality and an effective material eye-catcher.
GEORGE bench
A bench, which incorporates the distinctive design features of the concept, can be purchased to match the GEORGE table. An optional cushioned seat provides optimum comfort and is available in various leather and textile upholstery materials. The GEORGE bench comes either with or without a longitudinal strut. It can be deployed as part of a group with the table or as a stand-alone piece.
The GEORGE table and bench can be purchased in oak, black walnut or ash.
