Concept

Effortless and timeless, Nicholai Wiig Hansen’s My Chair from 2013 is just about as close as you get to a new classic: a minimal chair in molded veneer, that moves gently with your body. The rounded corners and curved waist counterbalance the stringent design of the chair and give it a warm and welcoming feel. The series has now been expanded with new family members and an updated color and material catalog.

My Chair
My Chair is the result of designer Nicholai Wiig Hansen’s vision of the perfectly balanced chair: ”My aim was to design a chair with unequalled harmony and to try and come close to the indefinable quality that, in my opinion, lifts a design to another level. My Chair is a mixture of something familiar and something new, something neutral yet characterful, something present but not dominating, something simple as well as complex and something rigorous as well as curved. In other words, My Chair is a shell chair the way I think it should be.” Nicholai Wiig Hansen

With its minimalistic silhouette, My Chair is ideal for spaces that need a large number of seats, as the design can be multiplied without taking over the interior. Its stackable design gives flexibility, while the new models, lounge chairs and bar stool, expand the opportunities to create coherent furnishings with the My Chair series.

Expanding the collection
A new lounge model continues My Chair’s characteristic back in a chair with a lower seat height. Lowered towards the floor in a reclining posture, it achieves a balanced and refined design, that is eminently suitable for spaces that require a lighter lounge chair.

The series’ distinctive design traits are repeated in the barstool with a high backrest, which makes it a comfortable companion to a high table, a bar or a kitchen island. A footrest is introduced in the form of a hard-wearing steel frame, and the legs have been developed in two heights to match different types of tables.

New colors and materials
The My Chair series unfolds in a new comprehensive portfolio of colors and materials. The chairs are being launched with veneers of walnut, oak, dark stained oak or birch, as well as in six new shades: sandstone, oyster, dusty green, moss, dark grey and light grey.

In addition, My Chair can be upholstered in a number of different textiles, and it is now also possible to opt for a front upholstery. All models can be produced with wooden legs (which follow the shell options), chrome or powder-coated steel.

The new, muted, nuances and the wide variety of wood types create a soft, exclusive atmosphere and emphasize My Chair’s universal nature.
