Aesthetic essentiality and technological research

The EARL collection has been chosen for the ADI DESIGN INDEX 2017, the selection of the best in Italian design. Thanks to this nomination, it now enters the pre-selection of the Compasso d’Oro Award 2018.
The Earl collection, created by young British designer Daniel Rous of Fabrica (a communication research centre in the Benetton Group) is a light in its shape, subtle in its depth but highly resistant – an important consideration when it comes to large-scale, turnkey furniture solutions.
The collection, made entirely of solid curved beech wood, confirms Piaval penchant for sleek aesthetics, but hides careful and complex woodworking skills in its simple design. This is the result of an accurate research and know-how, rooted in traditional curved-wood chair manufacturing and cutting-edge production technology. The synthesis between light, agile visuals and the solid material make Earl an eclectic collection, perfect for public spaces such as libraries, cafés, meeting rooms and more.
Earl is the fruit of the passion which Piaval and Daniel share for wood, for a tactile furniture experience, and for environmental sustainability. The collection, which includes a chair, a seat with armrests and a stool, is marked by the backrest, shaped into a harmonious curve. In addition to guaranteeing excellent resistance, Earl offers stability and comfort. The seat is also in full solid wood, carved to ensure the right ergonomic properties.
The chair, the armchair and the stool are available in a natural finish, which brings out the attractive wood grain, or in a wide range of shades.
