Searching for functionality

The name of the collection, Nudo, refers to the knots found in wood in its natural state. The legs of the occasional tables replicate the sinews of a tree-trunk, as if they were branches, thanks to painstaking lathing and carving. The lightness and wide variety of sizes and finishes enable the creation of interesting combinations, giving them alternative uses. The small table with a 38 diameter top may also be used as a stool.

The Nudo Basic dining table is the latest addition to the family. Juan has simplified the design of the feet in order to allow easy access. With four sizes to choose from, this is a table that will fit any space.

A special hard wearing matt treatment gives the table a traditional wax-like finish, accentuating the natural grain of the solid oak top.

JUAN IBÁÑEZ

Juan is both a product and graphic designer. He has coordinated the corporate image of Sancal since 2005: taking part directly in the development of scenographies, illustrations, catalogues and the website. The prints of the Trazo table are also part of his work. Nudo is the first design range that Juan, acting alone, has developed for Sancal.
